Universal McCann (IPG): LGBTQIA+ Community Volunteer Day
Sip & Serve – LGBTQIA+ Philanthropic Happy Hour with Paramount x UM
I event managed “Sip & Serve,” a philanthropic happy hour activation in San Francisco co-hosted by Paramount Advertising and UM to celebrate Transgender Awareness Week while directly supporting the local LGBTQIA+ community. The event combined networking with hands-on volunteer activities, creating meaningful impact for LGBTQIA+ youth facing homelessness.
Key Highlights:
Purpose-Driven Experience: Attendees participated in two volunteer projects—assembling 70 care packages with hygiene supplies, winter essentials, snacks, and handwritten notes for Larkin Street’s drop-in centers, and crafting 17 inspiring Stars of Hope for display in local shelters.
Community Connections: Partnered with LGBTQIA+-owned food and beverage vendors to strengthen ties with the local community.
Nonprofit Engagement: Included educational components featuring Larkin Street’s Chief Development Officer and a special video message from the founder of Stars of Hope, underscoring the direct impact of the event.
Social Impact: Paramount Advertising donated $1,500 total—$1,000 to fund 250 hot breakfasts for homeless LGBTQIA+ youth and $500 to provide support for 82 trauma survivors through Stars of Hope.
Outstanding Feedback: 100% of participants expressed satisfaction and willingness to attend future events; attendees praised the unique opportunity to blend social impact with professional networking.
Strategic Promotion: Used custom RSVP pages, targeted communications, and reminders to maximize engagement and attendance.
This event exemplified how corporate events can create authentic social impact, deepen community relationships, and celebrate LGBTQIA+ inclusion in a tangible, hands-on way.
